The Khaine's Embrace Scenario has been enabled for the remainder of the Wild Hunt Live Event. This Scenario has been enabled to ensure that all players may complete all of the tasks associated with the Wild Hunt. So get out there and lay waste to your enemies for the glory of Khaine!

Happy August all,

GamesCom and Games Day Baltimore have come and gone and, as promised, news about the future of WAR has been announced to the Community; and that future is bright. We’re setting out a clear path for the future development of WAR and that path leads to the introduction of the new Warhammer Online RvR Pack.  This multi-tiered RvR focused content will deliver something that many of today’s MMO gamers desire: more control over their online/in game experience.

Hot Fixes - 8/31/2010

The following Hot Fixes were implemented during today's maintenance:

General Changes and Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue which would cause the client to occasionally reload textures.  
Realm vs. Realm
  • Fixed an issue where certain types of Siege Weaponry were not dealing the proper amount of damage.
  • Fixed an issue where Keep doors were occasionally not targetable.   
User Interface
  • Fixed an issue where Health Bars of groupmates would not properly update.   
Items
  • Fixed an issue where secondary Sovereign armor set items were not properly granting the associated Supreme Ward Tome of Knowledge unlock. Players whom have already equipped the secondary Sovereign armor pieces will need to unequip and reequip them in order to properly receive the unlock.   
Combat and Careers

Engineer
  • Tracer Rounds: Fixed a tooltip issue for this Tactic Ability.
Runepriest
  • Rune of Breaking: The cooldown for this ability has been reduced. Additionally, stats granted by this ability will now transfer on a 1:1 basis. Also, corrected an issue where this ability would not persist through death.
Zealot
  • Harbinger of Doom: The cooldown for this ability has been reduced. Additionally, stats granted by this ability will now transfer on a 1:1 basis. Also, corrected an issue where this ability would not persist through death.

As we enter the weekend, we would like to take a moment to remind players to be wary of efforts from outside sources to compromise your account security. Please remember, BioWare Mythic will never ask for your Master/Play Account password through in game communication. Additionally, please be mindful of websites you are visiting. Please remember that you will never be asked to enter your account information anywhere but the Mythic Account Center (https://accounts.eamythic.com/), the Official Forums (http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/subindex/203), the Realm WAR Website (https://realmwar.warhammeronline.com/realmwar/Index.war) and in the Mythic Patcher when launching the game.

As always, we encourage our players to be safe and secure with your account information by never sharing your account information with anyone, using a strong password utilizing letters, numbers and symbols, paying close attention to websites you visit, and by updating your passwords regularly by visiting the Mythic Account Center.

1.3.6 is out the gates and to celebrate the glory of Open RvR we're giving you double the XP and Renown for killing enemy players and monsters. So enjoy the weekend, and the patch and may you find glory on the battlefield!

We will be bringing all North American and European servers offline tomorrow, August 17th 2010, at 8:00AM EDT (1400 CEST) for the deployment of Game Update 1.3.6, Against All Odds! At this time we anticipate that all servers will be back online no later than 2:00PM EDT (2000 CEST).

Update 08/17/10 - 12:00PM EDT (1800 CEST): Maintenance is complete and all servers are now open, welcome back and have fun!

Update 08/17/10 - 8:00AM EDT (1400 CEST): All servers are now offline as we begin the deployment.

We invite our Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning communities to join us for a GamesCom Fan Gathering at the Hard Rock Café in Cologne, Germany on August 21st, 2010 at 6:30 PM Local Time! Update: 1.3.6 Friendly Collision

After much internal discussion and review of feedback from the community, we have come to a decision regarding the proposed disabling of Friendly Collision in Game Update 1.3.6.

In game update 1.3.6, Friendly Collision will remain enabled. We feel that in order to successfully implement as significant a change as this it is our responsibility to devote more time to testing all of the potential repercussions and consequences that come with the removal of this feature. We aren't taking the option off the table; we still believe that the rewards of a significant performance increase are a worthwhile cause, and will we continue to explore other avenues of making the game even more accessible for more players; however we believe, at this point in time, this is the responsible decision to make, in respect to our community. 

As a development team it is our responsibility to continuously explore avenues for improving the game experience for all players, both new and old. For many players, the friendly collision feature offers an additional layer of strategy and depth to WAR. For others, the feature can be frustrating and a barrier to enjoyment. However, what it comes down to is will this change to something that has defined WAR's gameplay since the launch of the game have more Risk than Reward.

Thank you, the community, for continuing to help us shape the future of WAR. Your feedback and participation is important to us as a development team and continues to inspire us every day.

Dev Diary - Item Appearance System

Today, I’ll be discussing the specifics of the armor appearance changes as discussed in the last producer’s letter.  After much deliberation about how to give players new appearances without imposing them on all players, we’re  introducing a system that gives everyone the freedom to choose how they wish to look without compromising their character’s power.

In preparation for the significant changes to the Auction House being introduced in Game Update 1.3.6, we will be disabling the ability to create new in game auctions, effective Friday afternoon, 8/13/2010. Already posted player auctions will run their normal course and will still be accessible for bidding or buy out.
