Today
Today there is much work to do. I shall do it.
To Do List
Add "teaser" type field to character and guild specifically for the character/guild list so if someone writes a book (encouraged!) it won't make the listings unusable.get others to suggest fields for both- write up FAQ type stuff.. how to*, rules*, etc

so close...
It is so tempting to toss a link out to the TNG and to WHA at this point. But I'd rather take the time to get it right. Well, obviously, since it is now 6 weeks later than I originally planned on making it live.
Alright, next list.

stupid forums
so, I didn't get very far on my last list. It took me much longer and more gray-hairs setting up the forums to be a little more "standard" than I had anticipated. Styled them up a little so they are looking a lot less like an evil blank piece of paper.
mostly the same from last time due to the forum fiasco...

Character Summaries
This post is strictly for my own use. I'm transferring the character summaries for Vertai and Tsekani from my account at gamerDNA. I don't want to forget about them when I shift my creative efforts-- such as they are-- here to the Ostermark Gazette. To wit:
Tsekani Frostheart
Eldest son of a famous Swordmaster, Tsekani bears the family name and the weight of tradition that it represents. It was expected that the dour and responsible elf would follow his father's footsteps to the White Tower; he chose instead to join the White Lions in the frontier province of Chrace, under the sponsorship of a longtime family friend.

Clues From Mount Gunbad
This very eve a throng of twelve stout dawi descended into the hellish innards of Mount Gunbad seeking clues to the whereabouts of the Sundershield. It was known that during the War of Vengeance the Sundershield was looted by elgi of House Filindil after all Sundershield dawi had been sent to Hrungnor's gates for the last time.
Recently we discovered records that elgi bearing the crest of House Filindil had traveled deep into Mount Gunbad and had not been seen again in these realms. Twas thus that we began our work within those caverns.

Clues From The Blighted Isle
I'm glad to report that we had some success with our trip into the Elgi lands the other eve. A throng of nearly a dozen strong dawi set out from Barak Varr for the Blighted Isle of the elgi. Once the throng arrived we traveled north into the coastal cliffs and there in found the ruins of the city Adunei being used as a defensive point against the elgi's dark kin.
At first we searched and questioned the local elgi in vain for nay any of the purported to have heard the name Gaesadrel though they knew House Filindil well enough. Soon enough the sharp eyes and ears of our throng brought the truth to light and we were lucky, or unlucky enough to meet Gaesadrel himself!

Wee folk, your oaths are empty.
Clan Mugmallet,
I hesitate to leave a note in this place, this tiny little hovel that you call a guildhall, as I wonder if many of you even possess the skill to read or understand words larger than "ale", "hammer" or "belch." Nevertheless, your recent failures have spurred me to action.
Another day has passed, and yet again the mail courier has visited my fair village with naught a letter in hand for me. No letters proclaiming a dwarf victory in the realms of the elfs, no letters requesting an extension, no letters begging for more time. The terms of our arrangement could not have been made any more clear.
All I hear from you is silence.

Arkinian Rilynelth, an introduction.
The Sea of Dreams is calm today, its' waves lap languidly upon the shore sending a fine mist swirling about, appeasing the senses. The smell of the briny sea hearkens memories of the solitary figure sitting on the sandy beach. Behind the figure, the ruins of a once grand estate lay scattered across the broken landscape. Above, soaring amongst the cloudless blue sky, seabirds ride the air currents rising off of the coastline.
"A good omen", says the figure.

PTR Margaret
They added KotBS to the public test realm the other day which means poor neglected Clara has been even poorer and more neglected. I can't quite get into the Sigmar thing with her, or any character really. I'll try to make it to the story telling event tonight and give her a work out.
The more I read up on Myrmidia and her followers the more enamored with roleplaying a knight I become. Ugh, December come on!
For some reason the first post in an Errant Sun ended up having weird formatting. I wonder if it's from copy/pasting? /shrug
Why are ruined shoulders so hard to find? Why am I so enamored with shoulders? A mystery for the ages. Clara needs a pair for herself and I want to save a pair for Margaret too.
Heavy Metal
So despite my plans to play a KotBS I was unenthused about the Heavy Metal event because my job keeps me busy enough that I can't log in every day. So there was no way I'd have a chance of completing the whole thing. Yesterday I found out they changed the rules so you can go back and finish all the previous days' tasks, and then today my boss unexpectedly gives us Friday off. :D It's like it was meant to be.
Notes to Self:
1) Pick up more coffee.
2) Let mom talk me into those leftovers this year. (hate cooking)
3) Load some AC/DC on the iPod.
4) Game like I'm still in college. Woo!
5) Find out more on the Daughters of Myrmidia guild I saw on Sunday.

OOC: Storytelling Night, Scheduling and Thoughts
This post is Out of Character
Storytelling Night on Sunday at the Grey Lady Coaching Inn has become a successful weekly RP event :o) However, recently, we've seen a drop in attendance. Some of this I know is with people who are no longer playing, but a lot of it I know is because Sunday night seems to be REALLY intense RvR from Destruction. Every night that Destruction has pulled out the stops to lock a zone was a Sunday. This clearly is a day that they all are able to RvR at the same time, and it's probably not a fantastic idea to have an RP event at the same time. People will feel compelled to defend the Realm, and people will feel like they are missing out on RP for it.
The Sundershield Oath
It were near a week ago that a throng of dawi set out to fulfill the oath sworn to Gaesadrel of House Filindil in exchange for the Sundershield. Twas an evening of great triumph for our clan, and of great sorrow as well.

The Night of Knights
Though the sisters managed to drag me out shopping on Friday I was able to log in long enough to get my Heavy Metal rewards locked in. I was surprised at how little time it took, I thought I'd have to do all the quest events but I guess not. Good for me though, Margaret is now R7 RR6. She would have been RR7 also but I opted out of scenarios in favor of a ORvR game of chicken with the chaos warcamp guards in Nordland. Come back Destruction and let me kill you! Don't hide under your rank 40 guards... noooooo!
I ran into one other KotBS with the exact same face/hair/scar combo as myself. *facepalm* But then there were a million of us running around last night so what did I expect? Feh, I will embrace my unoriginality.

Storm of Chaos, kinda
So I was drinking my giant mug of coffee this morning and checking my email when there was a -really- loud crack outside and then everything went dark.
Yep, the rain finally got that limb I'd asked my landlord about a few months back and it fell right on our power & cable lines. Nice. The Utility guys were showing up to fix it right as I was leaving for work but the Cable guys hadn't shown up yet. I hope it's fixed by the time I get home otherwise I'm going to miss my first guild event.
Dammit Murphy's Law, what's your problem!? Oh, right - working as intended.

OEP: Testing
Man, so I hooked us up with a completely awesome group name because I'm hella original.
Also, I'd expected that group invites would actually give people an option to join or not. Cranky, did it give you a yes/no option or were you just magically added to the group when I sent your invite?
Fun, fun, fun!
Just call me Gandalf
I got a quest shield earlier tonight that is bugged with a staff graphic. By request, say hello to Margaret "Gandalf" Ritter. (And her sidekick Isaborimir)

Snow
Crunch, crunch crunch. With every step another crunch of snow beneath my boots. It's funny how snow makes things stick up out of it at weird angles, making the landscape look like a graveyard with swords and banners for headstones. I pick up a sword by the hilt, unaware that it is still attached to a dead man buried by the recent snowfall, and pray that Sigmar deliver us from this forsaken place.

Apples
"Lookin' a bit pekid there Ashelin, why don't you munch on one of these here?" Ostan sugested to me in that gruff tone of his. A second later, an apple came flying in my direction. I caught it in midair, setting the round, red shape in my lap. Honestly, I didn't really feel like eating that day, but to humor him, I took one bite. As I chewed on it's sweet pulp, I noticed that the Templar had an entire basket of the fruit between his legs.
"Hey... shouldn't you be out burnin' witches instead of picking apples?"

Beginning
Feet bare, canvas shawl wrapped around her shoulders and thin linen farm dress clinging tenuously to her frame, a young girl crossed the threshold into her town's temple of Sigmar. Her aburn hair was soaking wet like the rest of her, pulled back into a sloppy ponytail. Blue eyes turned up to the high vaulted ceiling, to the walls of red stone, and finally to rest on the great statue of Sigmar behind the altar. She walked slowly, one foot in front of the other, glancing over her shoulder nervously. The priest she approached was old, his head bald and beard the color of steel. He turned at the sound of footsteps, eyeing the girl with curiosity and kindness. When their eyes met, she stood stiffly, gaze resolute.
"I want to become a Warrior Priest."

Sigmar Vincit
Tattoos are a lot like any other holy symbol, except they're much easier to carry around and much harder to lose. Charbel has quite a few.
I got bored and scribbled one out. Hopefully the Latin isn't incorrect. *sigh*

I haven't even decided where she wears it. Looks like an arm or a shoulder one to me, though.
Edit: Woah. Didn't know this posted to the front page. :0 GOOD MORNING EVERYONE.
Caelitus Mihi Vires - Myrmidia + Empire
Like I said, Artegal has tattoos too. This one combines Imperial and Myrmidian imagery, which seemed appropriate to me. I took it a bit more seriously, so I'm content with how it turned out, and Artegal (the player) likes it as well, so even better. I was going to put something more pious on the scroll, but the current phrase was too perfect to pass up.
It's big and showy and the motto reflects his egotistical streak. I think if he were going to have something comissioned, it'd probably turn out like this.
I GIVE UP
So . . . much . . . rage.

(click for zoom)
There's no way in hell I'm ever finishing this. I'm going to go draw some freaking tattoos. Her bone structure is too delicate, but when I try to make it stronger, all I end up doing is belaboring it with toooooons of lines. Drawing people really isn't my thing.
You inspired me Charbel, now look what I did...

I havent done a digital painting in a LONG time, so if this turns out crappy, I'll just keep the lined version. Ash needs a decent ref pic for her character page..
