Who will be staying if PT merges into a normal server?

Brexar and I will definitely not be.  The immaturity level on PT is high enough as it is and I have no desire to see whatever stupid names that pass for clever on a normal server.

Back to WoW I suppose while we wait for SW:TOR.  *sigh*

Mythic, think of the rolepayers for once!  Ah well, I know that was wasted breath.  :(

what what WHAT?
They're merging? WTF??? They better not. Even if they do....I will continue to rant and rave at people in high, proper english as only an elf knows how! Bah!

I mean me and my mates on the normal wow servers pretty much rp'd anyway...no one cares, but we did get a bit of a reputation.

"why, yes, yes I am."

And yes, while you could definitely roleplay on a normal server, I, for one, do not wish to pay for the privelige of being told "lolololololrpsux ur ghey" over and over again.  Neither do I want to roleplay only in /whispers.

Make your voices heard.

You keep using that word.  I don't think it means what you think it means.

In any case, the reason I posted this is because I'd like to find out where "everyone" who has not left for Aion will be going if they merge PT, since I have made some new friends.  :)

Although most people have pretty much assumed it has moved beyond "if" to "when".

Sorry Gia, but I'm pretty much with Ash. The majority of the decent RPer left the game ages ago, about when PT became the sole RP server, and things aren't looking any better. :( This is pretty much the last moot nail in the coffin that's already been buried and forgotten.

Aion is utter shit, but if nothing else we'll look out for your in the KotoR MMO! :D

The old republic is going to be amazing. I know hype isnt necessarily true blah blah, but its a game where play is not that reliant on a massive amount of people participating... just exploring would keep me happy.

Gia, the Darkenvane guild is the where the old RPers have regathered, but they are on Aion. That's where Teleri(aka Tavin) has gotten to ;) There's still a lot of really nice people in my guild that I would like to stick around with, so I am staying. Plus my bf is going to join up when he gets back from europe innnn just under three weeks :D!

But if you find any good games that loook like they might be an ok substitute if everything really does fall apart, let me know!

War itself would fall into a deeper grave if it merged its rp server, i dont know where i would go....i dont think i can afford aion. Someone is trying to get me into champions.....but its not the same as war, :( But iam curious to know how many here are still playing war......

I dont think i could run aion either....

If PT merges with a "normal server" I honestly don't know what I'm going to do.  As a guild leader I have a responsibilty to the members of the Sword and Scroll so I will likely see whether or not the guild wishes to continue or not before I make my decision to stay or leave.  I can guarantee one thing though:  I will not be going to WoW under any circumstances:)

Well, after fourteen years of playing MMO's, I definitely am not looking forward to leveling a character by PvE quest/grind.  This is one of the reasons that I'm really liking Warhammer a lot.  I can be allergic to PvE and it won't penalize me.  In SW:TOR I will have an awesome story and NPC companions to make me interested in questing.

So, I just read that WoW has implemented leveling by PvP.  So, it wouldn't be that bad.  No collision detection, meaning I'd probably not play a tank and pick up one of my Hunters again, but oh well.  Details here for those who are interested:  http://www.wow.com/2009/06/18/what-patch-3-2-means-for-pvp/

But this is all a preparatory information.  Mythic may surprise us all and roll a normal server into PT instead of the other way around.  Granted, we'd still have to deal with the kiddies, but at least we could report them.

Bleh I wish wow would just go away sometimes. The graphics are still the same as when the game first came out, and no matter what they do they won't be able to keep up with new games like SW:ToR and Champions online. Also, the 80 level cap is rediculous.

I also want WoW to go away ahah! leveling in wow and pvp in wow was the WORST gah. At least in War I will always have a fighting chance in pvp, even if I dont have the most super duper armor (which isn't that hard to get in war anyway), but in wow? PAH! HAH! AHHAHAHHAhHH...hah. I do NOT want to have to raid just to get the amor (MAYBE...IF IM LUCKY) just so I can come even close to equal in pvp. No, just no.

EDIT: I just had a look at that article. ...Hmmmm.....IF it works, it would be nice. But I have trouble understanding how its going to work. I mean nice in principle but....Lets face it, everyone in wow these days is a fucking twink (unless they're completely new). It's almost inevitable that you will still be pitted against them no matter what you do.
But even so...The graphics and character design alone would keep me from going back to wow, unles my boyfriend drags me kicking and screaming.
I mean I loved the Blood Elves, but come on, they look like football players, not elves.
Their arms are almost bigger than their head, but only in one axis....

I know, I know, I don't really like WoW either, but the choices are very limited.  Also, let me reiterate once again, I have no intention of leaving Warhammer unless the server merge makes the atmosphere unbearable.  I've adopted a "wait and see" attitude, though I still have huge doubts.

I quit WoW in frustration many, many times due to it being World of Gearcraft.  I know that the new system won't get rid of all the twinks, but it's a start.  There are far more "normal" people playing than gearwhores, trust me.  And there is no way in hell that I can do Arena because nobody wants to be a healer, and I can't say that I blame them at all.  BG's are fun, though, in small doses.  As are dungeons.  Hm, I did like my blood elf protection paladin in instances.  Also loved my night elf death knight.  I can't play a human female in that game, though.  Their hips are just way too wide and they run like they have a load in their pants.  Strangely enough, I like the proportions on the female dwarves better -- their bust to waist to hip ratio is very good.  I don't mind the male blood elves, it's a whole different art style and they still look good to me.  Shirtless demon hunter night elves in kilts aren't bad to look at, either.  :)

Besides, it will only be for another year until the BioWare masterpiece comes out (hey, I can dream).

I have no desire to play Champions, because I am absolutely terrible with controls that even remotely resemble a console.  I still love CoH and I play it from time to time, but it is repetetive and I've never played the PvP in that game.  I've heard lots of people complain, but I don't necessarily believe them.  I've just never tried it myself.  I think my highest Hero is 33 or something, and a Defender.  And I love my new Mastermind the best, even though I think she's only 17 or something.

LotRO would be my second choice if it wasn't for the mind-numbing level grind that MUST be done by questing.  Also the combat is kind of clunky, even clunkier than Warhammer's.  The world is just dang beautiful, though.  And the male elves there are indeed droolworthy.

Pretty much all the other games on the market I have tested and have decided not to buy them at all.  I've not tried Shaiya or any other FTP games, though, because they are built around the idea of a level grind.

EDIT:  EQ2 and Vanguard I both like, but they have no PvP, so that is why I've discounted them.  And I was there when Vanguard's last RP server was rolled into the normal one, hence my entire apprehension now.

EDIT again:  I forgot Age of Conan.  Pretty fun, combat a bit too futzy for me.  Only RP server is a PvP-RP server, and I'm not into getting ganked at every moment.  I was also very tired of mage-type characters sitting in water (where they could not be attacked) just blasting you into a million pieces.

Heh, I didn't -totally- mind the blood elves, i just found it amusing that their arms were so, well, NOT RIGHT!!! ahah! But their dancing moves were freaking AWSOME! Its the one thing I miss from Wow. The Emotes. They were pure WIN! I wish I could make my Blackguard dance! Faulkor would look so funny XD!! Pharrael would look so skanky. And Faulki - faulki says NO to dancing.

WoW sucks, pretty much. As I've said before, I'm only playing it now for wont of anything else to play, and then only because of friends and RP (most of which ignores the completely asinine and lulzy setting).

I'm giving DDO (Dungeons & Dragons Online) a look just because it's free and again, some friends are playing it. The graphics are bleh really, but not horrible. The character models are somewhere between EQ and WoW (I'm not sure if that's good or bad), but the interface is a little strange getting used to. We'll see how that goes once I spend more time with it.

Age of Conan is a bigger joke than WAR. Pass, thanks.

CO, I just don't care about. City of ___ was fun, but dreadfully repetitive, and CO just looks like a step-up, and not anything that really catches me.

As for KotoR, I'm looking forward to it, but again, only to kill Jedi, and only because friends will be going there. BioWare can write a decent story (just not a decent ending), but honestly, I find the Star Wars universe to be incredibly stupid. Much like WoW in space (or is WoW Star Wars in fantasy...?), really.

It's the people that make the MMOs for me, more than anything. Hell, that's what kept me playing FFXI for so long.

I've got an account on DDO, a premium one actually. Haven't played it much since I started actively playing Warhammer, but it's still there. My chars are on the Ghallandra server.

Totally hear you on the DDO front.  I tried that recently, and I just can't do it due to the ridiculous control system.  You would think that when a company goes through so much trouble to relaunch a game, that they would make all of their controls remappable to keyboard and mouse?  Epic fail.

Yeah, it's goofy. I've remapped enough to make it playable at least, but I don't know how much it's going to grow on me.

Still, free is the right price, so I'll keep trying it to so if I like it better as time goes on.

Champions, looks fairly fun with a action type setup. It also dosent appear to be a grind house....i hope war dosent make any more bad choices.....iam just starting to get some rp buddies to get it.......hope they dont get pissed if it fails it self harder when they get it. Never did like wow......never will....Coh is fun but i cant help but wonder......the rp server themselves.....seem full of so much crap. may have to check out D&D online.

I cant play WHO right after DDO, the backwards keymapping drives me crazy. Right as I get used to one setting, I try the other game and spend half my time running into walls and swinging my weapon by accident.

Still, as far as pve goes, I love DDO, whereas I almost univerally hate pve. The instances allow you to solo, and now scale to your group size. Although some of the settings are similar, many of the instances are fun and challenging, and allow you multiple ways to go through. Rogues have a real purpose in the game, especially against some of the nastier traps. And yea traps, traps are so cool. Several times Ive died and been like well, that was worth it!

As an Officer in Arha Khaladh, I'll be staying until at least the guild either dissolves or merges, but as I've posted on the WHA forums, I don't see any reason to continue playing in a non-RP setting, specifically with folks with names like LOLRUS or XxYerMOMxX.

I can confirm that they think Walruses, (Walri?) are funny, therefore, the name LOLRUS springs forth from the maddened depths of his/her mind and into WAR.

Lolrus is an internet Meme, of a walrus who was playing with a bucket, it was cute and so it took on the worshippers much like the "lolcats". With the "Lolrus" playing with his bucket, saying things like "i has bucket".
