Welcome!

The Warhammer Gazette (formerly known as The Ostermark Gazette) is here to give roleplayers playing Warhammer Online a place to showcase their writing and art, as well as find and interact with other RPers.

If you are a roleplayer on Ostermark, Phoenix Throne, Vortex (or elsewhere, I can add your server to the list if you send me a PM!), register a new account and then head over to our New Member Walk-Through page to see the recommended path to take to start interacting on the site.

If you run into problems registering (for instance, if you don't receive an email and you've checked to make sure it wasn't caught in a spam filter) or run into any other problems while browsing around the site, be sure to let me know via the Feedback form.

Thanks for stopping by,

Phileas
Editor-in-chief of the Warhammer Gazette

Information, or Misinformation?

Character:

Sieglinde tried to restrain the growing anxiety building within her as the wyvern circled the Inevitable City preparing itself for landing. She had tried putting off returning here, but she knew that if she was ever going to find Schwarzwald again she would have to come back. If there was anyone available who could track him down, they'd be here. The city hadn't changed much in the half year she had been away, and this surprised her a bit. She'd have expected a chaos driven city to be a little less orderly. Sieglinde was secretly hoping nobody would remember her, that she would look different enough that those who had witnesses what Schwarzwald had done to her would not put two and two together.

Random Thought

Peace can be found in the white margins of a history book.

Just Another Stepping Stone

Character:

It was a fine day.  One of those sunny, spring days where everything appeard to be coming alive.  Intizara, a good day to kill something.  Indeed, that was why she was even walking back in this familiar wood towards a home she had decided to leave behind months ago.  She rubbed her hands together in anticipation of what she was about to do.  She would prove her true worth to the old sorcerer once and for all.

Attack on Sartosa, Part II

The dark orifice before them dripped with the vileness of putrid seawater, greasing the cave’s glistening walls with an overbearing stench of rot and decay.  Giacinta slowly crouched forward against one side of the cave with sword drawn, a candle in her left hand, with Edoardo some distance behind and keeping to the shadows, hands empty, his adroit mind at the ready to calculate strategy on a whim.  Leonardo was taking up the rear, shaking and nearly beside himself, receiving endless warning glances from the assassin as he edged too close in his nervousness.

Trials of War (4)

Character:

It's always when things have run too smoothly too long that the wonkiest of thing occur.  It could have been months, but people come out of the woodwork or something starts feeling off or even a good thing that just blows your mind because it seemed all so impossible.  So it was on this day.

Briseadh strode through the encampment as if on a mission.  Actually the mission only entailed finding a quiet spot that could allow for some private, emotional freedom.  A place that she could actually work out everything whirling in her head.  If that were possible, that is.

Diary Entry:

Pushit

Character:

Early morning fog lay suspended above the ground, obscuring his vegetable garden and bringing a sense of dread up to his front door. Dill stood on the threshold, a sketchpad and charcoal stick cradled in the crook on his arm. At his feet lay the diminutive, beheaded body of a rabbit. The frayed hem of his robes, now a washed out shade of amber, tickled the backs of his bare feet. He was loath to step any closer to it. He couldn’t bring himself to dispose of the carcass. He recoiled back into the shadow of his shack.

Trials of War (3)

Character:

The night before had proven exactly how she thought it would.  Yet another human and elf couple announced in the group, but maybe they were more shocked by the fact it was her and Heraclius.  It was not like they made it obvious, but they were never hiding it either.  Actually it was months ago on a crazy day after far more arguing over how to fight the enemy, that the relationship had taken that final step that bonded them as a couple.  She could not even remember the details of the grueling day, but both had had enough and all the emotions and tensions needed release.

Sylvasil Eldispellion; a song about some dragons

The Ballad of Sylvasil Eldispellion, Eighth Age

Sylvasil in days of old
stretched ivory-white and glory-bold
for elven kings of towered land
did always rule with kindly hand.
Upon the hills were builded tall
citadels and towers all,
and in them were there rooms of books
where, stealing then with greedy looks,
scholars from the farther lands
came in ever roving bands
for the lore of Sylvasil
was so great it’s with us still.
Mighty was their earthly lore
of trees and flowers and fruits they bore
and deep their knowledge was of spells
their libraries were like to wells
of learning that was deep and true
and to that Art did Sylvas hew.
